PERRY MELNECIUC
Team Coordinator + Crew Chief
A former owner, operator, mechanic and rider of his own team for 13 years, Perry has an encyclopedic knowledge of racing, and a gift for getting the most performance out of his motorcycles.
Perry turned professional in 1990 when he was just 23, was a regular in the top ten rankings for years, and finished third overall in the AMA championships his last three years. His best career finish was in 2002, when he made it to the podium by finishing second in the prestigious Daytona AMA 250 GP.
His record on the mechanical and tuning side of racing is equally impressive. Perry has served as chassis engineer, lead mechanic or crew chief for a number of top teams, including: American Honda (2005), Ducati (2006), and Kawasaki (2007). In 2008, he was lead mechanic and crew chief for Barrett Long in the Indianapolis Red Bull Moto GP.
In 2003, Perry founded the RPM Track School whereas a guest instructorhe continues to pass along his love of racing and mastery of the equipment to the next generation of racers.
Highlights:
2002 2nd place, Daytona AMA 250 GP.
2005 Teamed up with the late great Merlyn Plumlee at Factory Honda, tuning for pilot Jake Zemke; 2nd place overall in the AMA Formula Extreme Championship Series
on a Honda CBR 600RR
2006 Tuned for former Honda Superbike Champ and World Superbike multiple race winner Ben Bostrom, on a Factory Ducati F06 999.
2007 Kawasaki Factory Team chief mechanic; tuned for two-time Yamaha Champion Jamie Hacking.
2008 Indianapolis Red Bull Moto GP; crew chief for Roadracing World Young Gun
