Road Atlanta Update *Superbike*
April 5, 2009 5:00pm
Superbike race started with Barrett 15th on the grid. A slipping clutch made for a tough start as Barrett initially fell two positions as the field screamed into turn one. However, Barrett was able to battle back through the field to his starting position. As the laps ticked away he pushed the Ducati 1098R even harder and reached as high as fourteenth before the gearbox finally gave out. Despite what could have been a race ending setback, Barrett soldiered on and brought the bike home in 18th position. |

Road Atlanta Update *SportBike*
April 4, 2009 3:30pm
Daytona SportBike race one has concluded. Barrett finished in 17th place. Starting from 21st position, Barrett began moving through the pack and was as high as 16th place before a red flag was thrown. Barret had passed another rider just before the flag was thrown, but the red flag caused the running order to be reverted to their positions for the previous lap. This pushed Barrett down one spot to 17th. With only three laps remaining when the flag was thrown, the race was called. Barrett ran a great race and we are all very excited by both his performances today and look forward to tomorrow's races as well. |

Road Atlanta Update *Superbike*
April 4, 2009 2:00pm
Supebike race one is in the books! Barrett did a great job and wound up finishing in 12th position. He started from 15th and steadily began passing riders as the laps ticked away. In the closing laps it looked as though he was going to finish in 13th with a 17 second gap to the rider in front of him. However, his incredibly fast pace and what seemed to be a mechanical issue with the 12th place bike allowed him make the pass with two laps to go and secure the 12th place finish. |

If your not following our twitter page, Barrett is running both Superbike and SportBike this round. Superbike qualifying is now over. Barrettt ran really well and the Ducati 1098R performed great. Barrett got as high as 12th in the running order before a few last minute laps by other riders pushed him down to 15th by sessions end. Again, SportBike qualifying is coming up at 1:30-2:00pm and should be interesting. Follow us on Twitter if you want quicker updates during the weekend's sessions. Click here for our Twitter page |

Road Atlanta Update
April 3, 2009 12:00pm
Practice went pretty well this morning. Got some laps in on the B-bike, but the track was a little dirty and didn't have a lot of rubber on since it has rained pretty steady for the past couple days. Also, Barrett got held up behind a pack of slower riders. Then a couple bikes crashed out and ended the session. We were right out of the top 20 in 23rd, so we will be in Qualifying group B, but we can still move up and possible make SuperPole if all goes well. Qualifying is at 1:30pm and ends at 2:00pm. Be sure to check our twitter page for instant updates during the session. Click here for our Twitter page |

Fontana Update
March 22, 2009 4:00pm
We started from 9th position on the grid, but Barrett was forced off when another rider cut the chicane. This caused him to drop eleven positions and fall back to 20th. Barrett got caught up in a battle with Beck that lasted until the last five laps or so. We were able to get passed and stay in front of Beck by race end, but it really allowed the next guy in front to pull away. However, we were able to secure an 18th place finish in the race. |

Fontana Update
March 22, 2009 10:00am
Rain, rain, and more rain! A rain soaked morning practice session has ended. Early on in the session only a few teams were out on the track. However, more and more riders began to get out there and by sessions end there was nearly the full field of riders on the track. There is a lot of truth to the saying "rain is great equalizer in racing"! Barrett who says he actually enjoys riding in the rain was able to put in some really good, fast laps. He also said that the track/tires have a suprising amount of grip. Three quarters of the way into the session Barrett was at the top of the timing sheets, but was pushed down into third position. His fastest lap time for the session was 1:33.846, which was less than three-tenths of a second behind the leader. The rain has definetly shook the field up. We feel we are in a position to really challenge for the win. |

Fontana Update
March 21, 2009 5:00pm
The first race at the second round of the 2009 AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike season is in the books. We finished in 13th position with another strong performance by Barrett. Starting from 9th position it was a battle from the beginning. Initially we fell back several positions and struggled with the grip that the rear tire had to offer. The Paradigm Racing Yamaha R6 performed impeccably, but was unable to get a strong drive off of the corners. A fallen rider made things even more precarious and slowed the momentum. After resolving that issue several laps passed before Barrett was held up by a lapped rider, which again slowed the pace. Overall, Barrett was pleased with the bikes performance, but hindered by grip issues. |

Fontana Update
March 21, 2009 11:00am
Final Qualifying has ended. We used Final Qualifying more or less as an evaluation of the different tire compounds (i.e. soft, medium, hard) and will use this data for the race later today at 4:00pm. The conditions at the track today are overcast and in the mid-50s' so the weather is definetly effecting the track surface. Barrett commented that the track was much slicker than yesterday. However, we feel that we have gained a lot of valuable information from today's session. Some quick information on Final Qualifying: Final Qualifying is for teams that want to improve their position from Provisional Qualifying. However, some teams see it as more track time to further evaluate/develop their race strategy. |

Fontana Update
March 20, 2009 3:00pm
Superpole here we come! Team Paradigm Racing is proud to announce that we have scored our first Superpole of the year. Rider Barrett Long put the #29 Paradigm Racing Yamaha R6 in tenth position. Barrett edged out rider Chaz Davies on the factory backed Aprilia RSV1000 by just one hundredth of a second! It was an exciting beggining to the second round of the 2009 AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike season. Barrett pushed hard following his tire change and definetly got a lot in return. SportBike Superpole is coming up at 4:20p.m. PST so check back here or on our Twitter page for results. |

Fontana Update
March 20, 2009 11:00am
Practice has concluded. The saftey car and two red flags really messed things up. Barrett was unable to get a clean lap in for the whole session. The bike ran well and performed great. However, with all the on track situations we were unable to get any real good clean laps in. Despite this Barrett went as high as 10th on the board before being held up. At the end of the session we were in 13th position. Qualifying is coming up from 1:50 p.m.-2:40 p.m PST. Check back soon for results/updates or @ twitter.com/paradigmracing |

Daytona Update
March 07, 2009 1:30am
Team Paradigm Racing rider Barrett Long rode through an intense battle to finish sixth in the historic first ever Daytona 200 night race. Crew chief Perry Melneciuc orchestrated superb pit stops that were imperative to the eventual finishing position. Following the first yellow flag caution Barrett was struck by the crash of the number 06 bike. The result was a compromised brake lever that had too much forward travel. However, he was able to compensate for the problem and work around it. He showed great determination, skill, and fortitude that produce tremendous results. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and especially all the team members who made this great finish possible!!!! |

Daytona Update
March 05, 2009 5:00pm
The first AMA Superbike race of the 2009 season has concluded. After a strong qualifying session earlier in the day, Barrett was able to put the 1098R in 11th position. He just missed out on making SuperPole by one position. However, that allowed him to grid-up beside Goeff May and Ben Bostrom. Excitement filled the air as the fans were welcomed on to the pre-race grid in the first ever Fan Walk. The Fan Walk allows the fans to explore the pre-race grid and get up close and personal with their favorite riders. Slight issues with the clutch caused Barrett to drop a few positions on the start. However, he battled back his way to 16th position before a problematic steering damper began to affect the bikes handling. Barrett dropped a position as a result, but soldiered and battled Scott Jensen to the line. Barrett shot from behind Jensen in the draft and was almost ahead, but crossed the line less than a tenth of a second behind in 17th place. |

Daytona Update
March 05, 2009 9:45am
Qualifying has concluded. The session started well and Barrett's time began to drop rapidly. However, three-quarters of the way through the session the front fender came into contact with the tire as it expanded due to the extreme banking of Daytona. The fender disintegrated and forced Barrett to return to pit lane. This caused a slight hiccup, but Barrett returned to the track with less than five minutes to go. Again, times began to drop and resulted in a final lap of 1:51.9. Despite the late sessions issues Barrett was able to qualify the bike in 21st position. Team Paradigm Racing is looking forward to the Daytona 200 on Friday night. Speed Channel will be airing the race live starting at 8:30pm. Check your local listings for more info. |

Daytona Update
March 04, 2009 8:00pm
The first ever official AMA night practice has come to a close (Daytona SportBike). Barrett was equally pleased with the bike and setup as he was in the first test session of the day. "It took a little time to get used to racing at night, under the lights, but the track has done a great job at setting up all the lights. It's a little like racing on the brightest day you can imagine! It will definitely be a unique experience and I'm really excited for Friday night's race." Team Paradigm Racing is equally excited and make sure to check back for updates on tomorrow's qualifying sessions!! |

Press Release
February 22, 2009
The newly formed team of Paradigm Racing has concluded its second testing session. The results were very pleasing and much was gained from the session. A full simulation of our Daytona setup was tested and performed extremely well. The team's built motor and electronics package was in place and it benefited tremendously over their previous session at Miami Homestead Raceway last month. Rider Barrett Long was also very content with the outcome of the test session and had this to say, "The package that our head mechanic Perry Melneciuc had ready for me was outstanding and really was an eye-opener as to the performance of our machine. As the sessions went on we gained more and more time and the results kept getting better and better. Early on we still had some suspension issues to sort out. However, we got those issues sorted and found a setup that is going to be really competitive for Daytona." |

Barrett Long Tests Paradigm Racing Yamaha YZF-R6,
Will Compete In Daytona 200
January 20, 2009
-Test-The newly launched team of Paradigm Racing, poised to compete in the upcoming 2009 AMA Daytona SportBike Series, just completed their first test session at Homestead Miami Speedway on Sunday, January 18th.
The investment group that formed Paradigm Racing can see the future marketing potential with the newly reorganized AMA Pro Road Racing Series and have secured the services of Barrett Long as Rider and Perry Melneciuc as Crew Chief, to premier a pair of 2009 Yamaha R6's in the Daytona 200 on March 6th. The decision to pair the duo was made after a successful run together, qualifying a 5 year old Yamaha TZ 250 at the 2009 US Red Bull Moto GP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September. Melneciuc, a former factory mechanic and longtime AMA 250 GP competitor and Long, a third generation road racer and former Roadracing World Young Gun, have a great chemistry that spans a friendship of over 20 years when Melneciuc competed against Barrett's father, a world class racer himself, John Long.
The impressively fit Barret Long arrived at the track focused and ready for the task of putting in the laps required to set up new bikes. The team worked tirelessly through a variety of suspension settings and ultimately ended the test with a balanced and well handling motorcycle. Long was extremely pleased with the test saying "this was the best handling 600 I've ever ridden." This was the first shakedown of the Melneciuc prepared Yamaha. "The team's goal for the test was to get Barrett comfortably fitted to the bike, make sure we don't have any ergonomic issues and get in some preliminary suspension testing. I was really impressed with Barrett's performance. He put in a lot of laps and gave us a lot of great feedback and direction with our suspension testing. At the end of the day we were able to come really close to the track record for a 600, and that was without our engine or electronics package in place" Melneciuc said.
Team Paradigm has one more two day test planned in February before they head to the World Center of Racing in Daytona Beach, Florida to begin their campaign of the 2009 AMA Daytona SportBike Championship.
