Driven to be the best—it's a cliché in this business, but in Mark's case it's also the spot-on truth. Mark became hooked on motocross as a teenager, and toured professionally for eight years. Eventually the punishing physical demands of motocross took their toll on Mark, but the connection to racing ran too deep for him to part ways with his first love. He picked up a degree in Engineering Technology from Citrus College in southern California, and soon thereafter found work as a roadracing mechanic.
 
His unique skill set eventually made him a hot commodity on the AMA circuit—in the past few years he has worked with some of the biggest names in racing, including Nicky and Tommy Hayden, Ben Bostrom, and Blake Young. His obsession with details and instincts for tuning consistently land his riders on the podium—and his reputation for winning continues to grow.
